Software HE discount only available online?

I was in the apple shop today trying to buy leopard with my brilliant university discount but I was told I could only have 10% because I wasn't buying it online. What is this all about?

For some reason, the education discount on software is good online only-- not sure why

Does your uni have a computer shop? Ages upon ages ago (when I was that age), you could get the ed discount at the computer department of the bookstore. But then again, this was before the earth solidified 😉.

I have no idea so I will presume not. We don't even have a student union building which is probably a contributing factor to making life there so damn expensive. Bloody collegiate system...
Anyway, at least now I know the guy in the shop wasn't just being a dick.
