Copy an Audio CD?

Help! All I want to do is copy an audio CD for my car's CD changer.

I tried Disk Copy to make an image, and burned it, but the end result isn't an audio CD, it seems to be a CD full of AIFF's.

I could import into iTunes and then burn the playlist, but that would mean converting to AAC or MP3 and so it's not an exact copy of the disk.

I'm sure Toast could do it, but there must be some way built-in, isn't there?

iTunes -> Preferences -> Importing -> AIFF
Rip CD with iTunes
Burn to a new CD

AIFF is uncompressed. It's as close to an exact copy as you'll get. **

** bit of trivia. I believe RedBook (Audio CDs) doesn't use error correction, so when you copy a CD, it may not be a bit-for-bit exact due to possible errors introduced on reads.... but this is not of practical importance.

There's a Linux app called cdparanoia that apparently makes a 100% accurate copy.

Also, instead of ripping with iTunes, you could just drag the AIFFs onto your HD using Finder. But you'd probably need to still use iTunes to write them back to CD afterwards.

As for cd copying iTunes aiff dose the job great but then again so dose toast

wish cd archtect was out on Mac makes life easier still
