Just got an Audio Technica AT 3035 for $85. Good Deal? Good Mic?

Seems like a good deal, based on the retail cost of the mic.
I don't have any personal experience with the AT 3035. The higher end Audio-Technica mics (such as the 4050) seem to be generally praised on all of the recording forums that I read, so it's lower end brother should be acceptable.
What are you going to record with it?
vocals!!!! I am also looking to grab this AT 4040 tomorrow...any sense in owning both of them?
or what about the difference in the akg 400 and the AT 4040? I'm getting one of them tomorrow?

I don't know much about the difference between those mics. I'm just getting into recording, really.
But why do you want 2 similar LDC's? Drum overheads?
Seems like one higher quality LDC would do you better for recording vocals.
well I was going only after the at 4040...but I bid on the 3035 way earlier today and to my surprise...didn't have to bid again. I will probably sell the 3035 (cause I know I will be able to get more for it than $85...i just lucked up) and that will help out toward my 4040.

maybe if you need to use them at the same time. the 3035 never did much for me; in fact, i actually like the 2020 better. but that is a good price.

Yup, get the 4040.
I don't remember whether it was a 4040 or a 4030 that I used to have, but they were great to work with at the time because of the reality of sounds they produced. They never added any color to the sounds so it made life very easy for me, whatever I recorded with them.

someone anyone.....4040 vs perception 400?
right now I am leaning toward the 400...any reason I should not..
the 420s are out now...is that reason enough?
