Recoding/Reformatting question?

Hey, I have taken some of my own personal DVD's and got them onto iTunes via handbrake. The problem is that I have coded them as a normal MP4 no a h.264. Does anyone know how to reformat them to the correct coding to work with my apple tv without having to redo them all in handbrake?

Either Quicktime's Apple TV export or Visual Hub.

the appletv will play mp4 (h.264 is a variant of mp4)
see if what you've encoded fits within the specs (bitrate, resolution etc)

if not, encode again with handbrake, using the AppleTV preset.

Also try Quicktime Pro for exports, I use it alongside VLC for different things.
