I was thinking about getting a sonos system and using this to power the monitors:

I would run this out of the digital out from the mac or the line outs from a MOTU ultralite.

Think it's strong enough/sounds clean enough? Would love some advice from those here who know more than I...

Do you really need the wireless capability? $500 is a lot to pay for a 50 W a side amp with an MP3 player built in and a network connection. (plus optional controller, plus optional additional wireless receivers)

AFAIK it doesn't have a TOSLink optical digital input (or any digital audio input). I really don't know if it is suitable to do what you describe.

The analog output from the Ultralight should be excellent quality, just take that to a power amp or a receiver.
