I am not providing a link to 1.1 (was available for a short time before 1.1.1) because it was very buggy and had the infamous "negative black" issue. Also no jailbreaks were released for it.

I won't provide links to beta firmwares or "pwned" firmwares.

If your going to 1.1.4 you don't need to download it as it's the newest firmware. Just plug your iPod into iTunes and press the "Restore" button.

This is really close to what I am looking for. In this thread was also another link to iPod firmware, but it did not list the Classic version 1.0.2 which I need to get my TV out to work with my Sonic V55 player, which no longer works with the newer firmware versions or the 1.0.1 version. I have only read that the 1.0.2 version does the job.

Can you help me get the 1.0.2 firmware and signature files?

It will work like 1.1.4 and the extra apps works now, you can get the extra stuff for extra, but the actual firmware can be gotten like this.

That's because that is NOT the file to use for a new out of box iTouch...I was on another forum and was told this. I used this file and it worked first time....

no, you can go straight to 2.0.1, or 2.0.2, you dont HAVE to use 2.0 then upgrade.

I have 2.02 legally purchased and it's not clear whether you have to download it, or if people are just downloading it so they don't have to pay for the upgrade (which is stupid in the first place!).

1,1 is first gen ipod touch, 1,2 indicates the second generation

They are all tested, advisory! If you are looking for ipod touch 3.0 yes there is one too BUT if you don't have dev.account please don't even try it. :)

So, if i read this right, you do not have to download anything, if you wanted to, you could just get them off of itunes, but itunes only gets the latest versions, and if you want an earlier version, you would need to download from one of the links at the beginning of the thread

The blue tooth functionality does not work. It recognizes but connects then quickly disconnects. First I thought it was my MBP but I tried with my Blackberry to Itouch and same thing. From Blackberry to MBP worked fine.

No, because when you bought the 3G iPod Touch, it comes with the most up to date firmware, 3.1.1.
