I am really tired of opening my MBP and getting the black screen with only a cursor. No way to reset the login because I can't see anything. My only crime? Seems I have to write down the exact peripheral setup before each sleep mode or else - out of luck! Geez, give me a break.

Don't write "Me too!!" unless you have a solution.

Hint, please don't ask me to log my port connections when I close the lid.

Sighhhhhhh

Sorry, I had to do it.

But I do have a solution. Bring it to the apple store. I did this the other day and the genius told me what they could do. I chose not to because I don't have the time.

They can keep the computer for 24hrs and run it to its max. Then they run a program to recognize problems with your hardware. Since that issue can be caused by pretty much anything (hard drive, logic board, ram, sleep sensor), it may take a few takes to narrow it down to the problem. So, they may have your computer for up to a week.
