hey everyone
i'm looking for a 24" display, primarily for graphic design work. i have my eyes on this NEC:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824002359
and a samsung
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001234
but i'm completely open to suggestions. i know these are both not s-ips panels, but i'm having a hard time finding one for less than $700... but that just isnt in my budget. i didn't want to spend more than $400 but i know that just isnt realistic... so my ceiling is $500 and i can't budge from that.
suggestions? thanks!

I just picked up a 24'' Acer from staples for under $400 after tax last week. Not sure if they are still offering that deal, but i thought it was a killer deal.
The picture is great as the 24" samsung I was eyeing before then that was $80 more. Not to mention it has a 3 year warranty. It's worth checking them out.

yeah, i have an acer 20" x203w now and it's a fairly good display. i've heard that NEC, samsung and BenQ (along with apple and dell, but i can't afford those) make some of the best panels... i just want the highest quality display.
and a side note, what is the difference between s-ips and tft other than viewing angle?
thanks

I just picked up that Samsung for $399.00 at Sam's Club last week. So far I'm very happy with the colors and brightness ( I'm no pro ). Rebate however, does not apply to Sam's. YMMV

I run a Soyo 24" with my Mini
It's only $299 from Officemax
http://www.officemax.com/omax/catalog/sku.jsp?skuId=21361009&searchString=soyo+24%22&displayBreadCrumb=null&_requestid=1156597
and there are a bunch of $30 off $200 coupon codes floating around on the net that expire tomorrow....I've had the monitor a couple months now, and it's great...and you can't beat $269 (plus tax) with free shipping.
