pb 12" and 15" ram compatibility

i want to know if the first generation 12" and 15" pbs have compatible rams? i recently upgraded my 15" to 1GB and i have a friend who owns a 12" first generation. are they compatible?

I don't think they are. What kind of 15" do you have. If it's a TiBook, then they are not compatible at all. The 12" uses DDR while the 15" TiBook uses SDRAM. If you have a 15" AlBook, then they are sorta compatible, as they are both DDR, but the 15" PB's RAM runs at a higher speed than the 12". I think it's okay to use different speed memory, although it's not recommended. I think all the RAM will slow to the speed of the slowest one.
