Typical legal wrangling. Atttack the little guy first, then after you have precedent, go after the bigger players.

Let me tell you what will really happen. They will settle. There will be a 5-10% royalty added to the wholesale cost. The wholesale cost will continue to drop by 50% every 14-18 months. The cost reduction consumers see will drop by 50% every 20 months rather than 18. That's it.

The group that makes the most money is not Seagate, but their lawyers since the royalty is a pittance.

royalties a pittance..? there aint nothin pittance about getting a cut from a product you dont have to market, manufacture, package, ship, or take any risk on. royalties are where its at.

How does this connect with the iPhone? My understanding was that the iPhone just had a bunch of flash soldered to the board...
