Hey everyone,

I've just got back from having my Macbook repaired (went in with Tiger and a dead hard drive, they sent it back with a new hard drive with leopard on due to having lost their Tiger disks!) anyway long story short, in finder's left hand menu bar I used to have a Network icon for browsing my local network but it's not there anymore and I can't figure out why. Anyone got any ideas how to get it back?

Still don't see a Network box there.

Just get (in order)

Computer
Hard Disks
External Disks
iDisk
CDs DVDs and iPods

Back to My Mac
Connected Servers
Bonjour Computers

Home
Desktop
Applications
Documents

Search For...

That's because the Network option doesn't exist in Leopard anymore - instead, any available network shares SHOULD show up in the shared section without having to browse for them. However, it is not the most reliable - many people, myself included, have problems getting shared computers and devices to show up.

press shift+command+k and see if you can connect to it from that.

Network should appear under idisk in that list.

Are you sure that you are connected to the network?
