I'm going to sign up for a new account at gmail, and I want the name to be design related, but I can't think of anything clever. Does anyone have any ideas?

Just some random stuff off the top of my head, feel free to take and use as your own. I know you were going for just an email name, but I thought some of this might inspire you.

I love this idea, but it has to be 6-30 characters long. What else can we play with here? Hmm...

Most decent/good names are already taken on gmail. So, I'd get a long, long list going :) It took me about 15 tires before getting my gmail address and this was when gmail first launched.

Also, keep in mind gmail now allows for a "." in the address which is nice.

Some of the ideas I've had are still available, luckily.

So, I really loved the cmyk idea, but it's not long enough. I think I came up with an alternative, but it's kinda long (9 characters). Anyone have any spin off ideas from cmyk? I may just go with my long one. I think it's rather clever.

The period is allowed, but it actually doesn't make a difference, so mac.rumors@gmail.com and macrumors@gmail.com would go to the same place. See this Gmail blog entry (http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2008/03/2-hidden-ways-to-get-more-from-your.html) for clarification and a "hidden" feature using the "+" character.

My name is FAR too common for me to get anything even remotely close to what you suggested. Even my middle and last name are taken. Besides, you must not have read too closely the title of this topic.

I ended up picking one that I had thought up BTW. I'd post it here, but I don't know if I want every spammer out there to see it and email me crap day and night.

or cmykftw@gmail.com

Couldn't resist, sorry lol.

Back on track, agree a simple name@gmail.com would be the best. Then the client will remember your name when it comes to correspondence, instead of a tag-line. Which is much more valuable if you ask me...
