as seen in http://www.apple.com/macosx/newversion/

Ink

Jaguar features advanced handwriting recognition. Graphics professionals will appreciate the ability to input text via stylus instead of switching to the keyboard. You can write directly in Mail messages and TextEdit documents, or use the InkPad to write text and draw sketches before sending them to your favorite applications. Ink requires an input tablet.

there is no product of this kind (for the mac platform), right?

i am just wondering, what would want to do with such a product if it would be available...

_read and write email (with airport)

_internet connection

_a word processor

_a painting program :D

I have a friend who has had a stylus and tablet for years now. I don't think the existance of those things is a secret.

the wacom tablet cannot write mail messages and textedit documents, can it?

IMO we would be seeing a tablet computer. a PDA is more unlikely (but not impossible).

it just came to mind, that there was a rumor about this.

the keynote speech was moved a day (or two?) earlier... the buzz was, because that same day, billy boy gates would present a tablet pc and STEVE would want to be the first to introduce such a product...

maybe the product (and the technology) was not perfect enough :)
