Weve decided to replace our iMac 10.2.8. We definitely want a 20 screen, but are hesitating between 2.0 GHz or 2.4 GHz. Quiet operation is more important to us than power: is the 2.0 GHz quieter than the 2.4 GHz? Thanks!

There's really no difference as the loudest component is the Hard drive or optical drive. Though I say get the 24", it is glorious!

I would go with the 2.4 GHZ, as the speed difference is noticeable, and it won't be louder than the 2.0 GHZ model. The iMac is due for updates soon, so I'd hold off until the new spec comes out. This way, you will have the option for getting the Penryn chip (which runs cooler), or buying the current spec for cheaper. Good luck. 🙂
Thank you both for your answers - after reading Gimmeslack's answer I ordered immediately (20", 2.4GHz) so I couldn't follow digitalnicotine's advise even if I'd wanted to. My Appleworks 6.2.9 is giving me a lot of grief, so I don't think I'd have had the patience anyway.
