Pretty simple question, really...save my 500GB drives or toss 'em?
With 1T drives on sale in my area for $199.99, I'm beginning to think about swapping out my 500GB drives (I really have filled up my 500's!). With the cost of drives dropping like a brick, I wasn't sure it was really worth buying something like this: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MEFW924AL2K/ and spending $120+ just to save a few drives.
What do you think?

Keep them as USB drives. They're always good in a pinch.

Ditto. I'll pay for shipping.
I would suggest grabbing a USB2 or Firewire external drive. 500 GB is nothing to sneer about now, and someday, when it is, you can move the new 1 TB drive into there. Alternatively, you can always hook up a 500 GB external to a HTPC or to a router (like an Airport Extreme or something 3rd party).
