I posted a question at the end of another thread and I don't think it will get answered unless I post it here.

How do I do that?

I click on Layer > Layer Mask and it only gives me an option to reveal or hide all.

And what do you recommend in terms of anti-aliasing? Smooth or crisp?

A bit of the old gaussian and some subtle curves
wouldn't go amiss either.
