Ram Problem Please Help

I recently upgraded my 2gb macbook pro to 4gb. The first two weeks were fine but after that when i go to about this mac it says i only have 1 gig, activity manager also reads 1 gb, i go to system profiler and my memory checks out good 2 2gb sticks so wtf what do i do? 😕
