Does anyone know of an online service, or even an application that I can install on my computer, that would allow me to send someone a text message (SMS) reminder at a specified date and time in the future?

IDEALLY - one that does not require that I 'confirm' the cell phone number of the person whom I will be sending the SMS message to (as I am not sending it to myself...)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Have you tried to see if iCal could do this? I think you could send an email reminder, and use the SMS/email feature for your recipient.

It shouldn't be too hard

Create an event in iCal that activates an automator action to send the SMS message. iCal could also be used to set an ordinary email message, which would work if you were sending it to, for instance, a phone with an email address. I know T-Mobile shows incoming email messages as text messages.
