Why not just tell your parents that the dog ate it. Hahaha.

Seriously though, honesty's the best option. Are they really going to be mad because your dog did something that was beyond your control?

if his parents are anything like mine have been in the past,

then it will be his fault for leaving the disc out while the dog was around and leaving the room.

I don't mean to be cynical, but this seems like a high-tech equivalent to 'the dog ate my homework'.

Suspension of disbelief, though, leads me to send you in the direction of BitTorrent and its ilk. If you really did already have it, then I would have no qualms about downloading it. AppleCare will send you a replacement for the cost of shipping and handling... if you don't have a credit or debit card, maybe an older friend or relative could take care of it for you?

So long as you legally own a license to the software, discs are pretty much a dime a dozen at this poin. In fact, you have a DVD burner, one might think you could find the software online.

Unless his dog is known for chewing on everything then that's just plain moronic.

look in the box, there should be a piece of paper that has little tiny coupons on it that you can cut out, just cut one out and fill it out, i think then all you have to do is send it to apple, they may want like $10 but its prolly your best oprion

Just go to an apple store or reseller and buy yourself a copy of leopard, you don't need a credit card to do that. Then reinstall it, put a blue tiger background on the desktop and hack your dock so its not 3D...

if the kids got absolutely no money he needs to get off these forums and come clean to his parents, seriously there are worse things you can get in trouble for when your 14 years old.

Dude, tell your parents that Steve Jobs showed up at your house in a pizza-delivery guy disguise, pushed his way through the door, demanded your Tiger disks at gun point.
And, after you reluctantly handed over the disks, Mr. Jobs bit your disks to pieces, upon spitting out the last fragment of Tiger install CDs, shouted: "Now go buy Leopard, I need another frackin' mansion"!

On second thought, better stick to your "dog" story.

steve jobs doesnt even make much money from apple after he got fired in lik 84 or 85 forget regaurdless his salary may only be $1 a year, but he makes a hell of a lot in stock options, he is worth about 5.7 billion, so i wouldn't say he is roughing it
