I've search through about fifty or so Google results, and MediaWiki.org, but I haven't found anything yet.

How do I set my wiki's Main Page as the default page for my site and still have everything show up in search engines?

From what I've read, it seems that using a simple javascript would make my site appear as spam to search engine indexes... true?

What about DNS forwarding? (is that what it is when I tell GoDaddy to forward my site? ... it gives either a 301 Moved Permanently or 302 Moved Temporarily with the warning that some sites take a 301 as a 302).

Any help is appreciated!

Is this all on a server that you control? Is it running Apache? Are both sites on the same server. Need a lot more information

-GoDaddy-hosted site.

-Apache, yes.

-Same site, not two.

I really just want a redirect to a different directory... I'm sure this can be done with an .htaccess... but that loses me because I've never had it explained well.

i.e. http://example.com ----redirect----> http://example.com/wiki
