How can I delete the first 15 seconds or so of an MP3 file in iTunes. I have some podcasts that have the same recording on it for the first 15 seconds and I would like to delete that so that only the podcast is there. Anyone know how I can do this?

correction, they are MPEG 2 files

MPEG 2 file...how can I edit out the first 15 seconds?

garage band?

I've never used that? How would I get it out of itunes and into garage band? Drag it to desktop and then open it?

No, there should be a Media option in GB, where you can actually see your whole iTunes library. Just find the song, and drag it on a track. From there you can cut bits and pieces from it.

cannot find my iTunes playlist in Garage Band

I have Garage Band open and cannot find iTunes playlist anywhere. I've never used this program before. How do I find my playlist?

Follow nick's advice -- iMovie will be easier. I still don't understand why the first suggestion isn't working for you. It works fine with my podcasts.

Okay, here's what I did

I right click on the podcast, go to Get Info, and down to start time. I click .50 which means that it cuts off the first 50 seconds of the podcast, right? Then I click play. At that point, in iTunes, it will play from that starting point. But if I choosed to replay it, it continues to go back to the beginning and then also when I sync it to my iPod, the first 50 seconds are still there.

I don't know anything about iMovie either...so I feel lost.

Forget about adjusting the start time and just trim off the first howevermany seconds. It's probably going to be easier for you to just drag the thing into garageband or imovie and just figure it out than for us to guide you step by step.
