Using Xbox 360 HD on different system

Can I use my HD on someone else's system for a couple days then use it on mine without any problems? I thought I heard somewhere that the HDs were tied to the console itself, but I could be wrong. Thanks

Nope. Games, saves are tied to the account, which is stored on the HDD. You can detach your HDD and use it on a friends system without any problems.
