View Full Version : Pyramid Schemes...

I was reading through the Forum rules today, and I noticed a blurb about Pyramid Schemes being forbidden. I can understand that, but I was wondering if it's also forbidden to post about a site where you don't have to do a 'pyramid' but can just complete offers (like sorry.com (http://www.sorry.com/)) to get something.

Perhaps a separate forum could be set up for MR members to discuss such websites (especially sites like the iPod Touch for free or the iPhone for free ones)? I find the website 'Sorry.com (http://www.sorry.com/)' to be very helpful in friends helping friends get new gear and accessories for their game consoles; why couldn't MR help out Mac users wanting another iPod or Apple TV or something along those lines.

As an aside... here's my sorry.com link (http://www.sorry.com), if anyone wants to help a brother out ;).

The reason none of these things are allowed is simply to keep the site clean of 100s of threads with people doing these offers.

Not about whether they are good or bad, they just clog things up.

Edit: if you want to link to freehookers.com or freebooze.com in the private section, you might have a chance of the thread lasting more than 30 minutes.

I see your concern, but why not create a sub-forum somewhere? There's a lot of activity on sites like the Free Lunch Room and CAG concerning getting these free things, and I think it's a neat and fun way to get some gear (like iPods or Apple TVs) without too much effort.

But oh well...
