So I've got my HDTV, and it has a digital audio output. Some day, I'll get a nice surround sound system for it. In the meantime, I'd like to get a 2-speaker system (with maybe a subwoofer) that will plug directly into the digital audio out on the TV. I don't want a receiver. Doesn't need to be high quality, and I don't want to spend much. Obviously, the speakers will need to be powered and mabye have a built-in amp.
Anyone have a suggestion on what I could get? I'm basically looking for a more robust sound that the built-in speakers on my TV (which is a Panasonic LCD HDTV).
Price range? Maybe $100-$200. So definitely not high end.
