What I can't understand is why they didn't release a faster box. If they're going to get to 3GHz by June '04 (or Dec. '04 FTM), shouldn't they be releasing a faster box? Strange.

It looks like a correction. Apple looked at what they were selling, and they needed a better alternative.. a better value. Maybe the 1.8GHz machines just weren't selling.. who knows...

Either way, is $500 thatr much money? Take the dual 2.0 and be happy..

I'm ecstatic. Since I'm laboring on my Mac 12+ hours/day, $500 isn't a lot of money.

However, like the guy who washes his car and manages to end a drought, I'm just glad I could help. ;)
