Statistically speaking, a PM G5 is probably better than a Mini, in expandability at least. I know that Intel processors blow away the G5s at the same speed, so in actuality, a PM G5 at 2.7 is about as fast as a C2D Mini, but the PM is much more expandable. I doubt that a lot of people would be doing such, seeing that a PM G5 is Pro and Mini is consumer, but I won't discredit the plausibility, and it has probably happened.

Yeah I'd have contemplated doing it too (from a 1.8 dual PowerMac) if they'd finally upgrade the video chipset in the Mini..!

I think this might be why they're NOT upgrading the video chipset in the mini.
Once stats show that all of the G4/5 users have upgraded to higher profit margin iMacs and particularly MacPros, they'll probably make the mini higher performance again.
