Hi

I am currently upgrading a RAID enclosure we have at work, I have been warned by the makers that it can only support 2TB of disc space due to the fact it connects via firewire.

Has anyone heard of this before? Is it correct?

Yeah, I've heard it before, both for USB and FW. They use a command set that doesn't support the large read/write commands that are needed to address data exceeding 2TB's. Here's a link (http://www.thestorageworld.net/data-storage/micronets-new-esata-box-overcomes-volume-limit.html) with a bit more information on this, as well as a product that overcomes the barrier.
