Hey everyone,
The left side of my Macbook, towards the front in between two screws is very soft.
It doesn't really bother me at all, I'm just curious if it's normal.
I use to have a very annoying clicker issue (everytime I pushed down on my clicker it made a dragging noise, like it clicked twice) so I brought my Macbook to an Apple store and had them swap cases. I guess while they were swapping shells they didn't notice the left side being soft.

Granted, it did seem slightly more soft after the repair.

Thanks!,

Josh

Mine is soft there as well, it has been reported quite a bit that it is soft/squidgy/creeky/etc. there. In fact it has been reported that those screws are mainly there for decorative means rather than actually screwing in to something.

It's normal, we all have it. Don't worry.

What do you mean by soft? Like, my Macbook in that place is soft in the sense that I can push it in really easily and it bends in a little bit, whereas it doesn't anywhere else that I know of on my Macbook. I believe that's normal.

Its normal, don't worry. If you think it's doing it more than it should, then go to an Apple Store and check the MacBooks there.

I've always though my Mac too had a softer side. Maybe that's why it treats me so well?

The screws on the left side of the MacBook are for decoration only. They don't actually attach to anything.

My brand new MacBook is the same way.

I just checked my new white 2.4 MB-yep, there is flex there.

No worries-Apple seems to stand behind case problems that crop
up even after a year out of warranty.

Yep, mine is the same! I turn my BlackBook on its side and let my bunny rabbit perform some platform diving into her wading pool on the weekends! LOL :D:p

As posted on a previous thread, here lies the answer to the somewhat flex, soft and squishy (http://macenstein.com/default/archives/949) MacBooks...

I guess the OP didn't search the forums prior to posting...

Wow i had always wondered why. Especially since i discovered it a week after i bought my MacBook and nearly had a heart attack. Since the nearest apple store is about an hour by car i though what the hell i will just live with it.
