I have windows vista 64 bit on bootcamp on my Macbook Pro and I ran into an issue.

I have a folder, rather large, on my Mac partition that I want to put on my windows partition. Because of vista, you cant just move it there.

I have an external hard drive but I cant seem to format it correctly so that windows sees it.

What settings do I use to format my external hard drive so that I can see the file when I boot in windows? I NEED TO be able to write to it in mac, and put the files onto windows.

I tried several times and nothing worked, with some MAC would not see it and with others windows would not see it.

Thanks for any help! :)

This does NOT fix my problem.

Macdrive does not support 64 bit windows and FAT 32 does not support more than 4 gig.

My file is a bit over 20 Gig.

Please help me, I kinda need this on windows.

HFSExplorer (http://hem.bredband.net/catacombae/hfsx.html) might work under 64-bit Vista. At least that's what my research shows.

Another option might be to use MacDrive (http://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive/).

Edit: Scratch MacDrive. Just checked their knowledge base. Doesn't work with x64 Windows.

It'll cost you $40, but this will enable you to write from your OSX side to your NTFS side.

You could also try splitting, transferring to FAT32 and then rejoining
