Mac OSX Music Video

Hey everyone,

I'm a VERY frequent lurker I guess, filmmaker and huge Mac fan.

I just shot a music video that takes place on the Mac OSX desktop. It's really cool... It uses the Mac OSX template as a canvas. Watch it and you'll see what I mean. Please link it up if you're a Mac fan!!! =) I promise you won't be disappointed (because I wasted 3 months of my life making it hahaha)

cool thanks! well, i hope people give it a good rating because I honestly started the video using tiger and if you look closely it switches to leopard... lol, because my friggin' powerbook broke halfway through.

also, some fun continuity errors... watch the dock... hahahaha.... good times.

Very cool! Got it on the AppleTV to see it on a 42" HDTV. Took an idea from an earlier post, and got it on the iPhone to show off to people. Shows the power of a Mac for sure. Won't see anything like this from a Widoze machine.

First off, sweet video. I can see how that would have taken a long time to do, and the end result is absolutely phenomenal.

I noticed from about 1:28 to 1:31 on the video, there's a nice little desktop-switching that occurs with a cube effect similar to the one using Beryl on linux. What did you use to do that? I'd love to get it for myself.

That is built into OS X. It's when you switch user accounts. On the top right you'll see to the left of the Spotlight icon, that's where OS X puts all User Account Names. When you click on different name, it'll do that cube desktop switch affect.

Seriously. If Apple had half a brain, they'd hire this guy and air this as a Mac ad. This is easily 100x better than anything their marketing team has come up with lately (TV-wise, aside from the iPod ones). It always amazed me how the awesomest computer company in the world could conjure up such terrible TV ads.

well, i'm super swamped at work, (what's new), and since TUAW decided that they wanted to do a little interview recently, I thought I'd answer a lot of questions there all at the same time.
