Camera Lens Question

I noticed when I look straight at the camera lens it looks clear. If I hold the phone on an angle and near a light it looks like it has a purple fog to it and doesn't look clear. Is it supposed to be this way? Thanks

Your just seeing refraction.

I think those are various coating elements to deal with refractions, reflections, and glare maybe?
