I have never own a mac product. But i am about to do so when the new macbook is on sale. I browsed through the mac catalog and saw this protection plan. I would like to ask how important this is to have the protection coverage and because i dont live in United States, will i have a problem replacing hardwares even if i bought the plan? I am not sure if Apple has a standardized procedure to treat their different customers around the world.

Thanks

Also, why are some people insisted on not buying ram from apple? And where should i get it then? Also which brand is appropriate for macbook black?

( I want to purchase macbook in Hong Kong)

Not a "Protection Plan" -- just a simple warranty extension.

Edit: If you buy memory from Apple it is 1. EXPENSIVE, and only warranted as long as the machine aka 1 or 3 years. 2. Cheaper from 3rd party, and the warranty is generally lifetime.

It depends where you are; here in the UK, they've replaced my faulty Macbook with the new version, so its pretty good.

The very high price. What and where to buy depends on where you are.
