How to convert windows media files to play in itunes

I have a few music files that i want to play in itunes but the file's default to windows media player only. How would i be able to convert them so that i can play them in itunes??
 
iTunes has its own converter doesn't it?

Just use the import function and iTunes should auto convert them for you.

andy k-i have tried the import option but nothing happens ??
 
I second VisualHub. It can convert nearly any type of media file to nearly any type of useable media file.
