FCE3.5 HD and iMovie 6.0.3 Import Problem

I've been trying to capture footage from my Sony DCR-HC27E using both FCE and iMovie but both are only capturing 2:02 minute clips at a time.

I'm connected over Firewire 400 and capturing to an 80GB USB 1.1 external. Any reasons as to why I can't import correctly?

Hmm, that's pretty strange. It could be that you are capturing over usb 1.1. For most video use the bare minimum is firewire400, but you can usually get away with usb 2.0, but i've never heard of capturing at usb 1.1. Try and capture to your internal drive to see if you can isolate the external drive and make sure the connection is the weak point.

Yeah, I know, USB 1.1. I'd love USB 2.0 but 1.1's all my PowerBook has.

Right then, I'm pretty sure it's the external then. :(
