Handbrake encoding way above average bitrate

Hello,

I read Apple's specs on the Apple TV. It shows on Apple's website that it can play a video with a maximum of 5mbps, so I encoded a movie with an average bitrate of 5000kbps=5mbps.
When I transfered the video to iTunes, it shows that the average bitrate is 5533kbps=5.5mbps. Will the Apple TV play a video with that amount of mbps?

The reason why I am asking is because my Apple TV hasn't arrived yet and I cannot test it.

Please advise if you are knowledgeable on the subject.

Total bitrate in HB = video bitrate + audio bitrate. Without knowing anything else, I'd bet you are forgetting to add the audio bitrate(s) into the final bitrate. AC3 is usually 384kbps or 448kbps, plus the AAC soundtrack.

Oh ok understood. One question though: Will Apple TV play 5mbps total (audio and video) or 5mbps for video only?
