Whenever I Start up muy Mac it Brings up the character Palette, It Also sometimes brings it up randomly when I'm on..

It Also shows up when I Press the power Button to shut it down?

i'm not too sure what you mean about the "character palette"? could you post a picture or something?

you could also try the usual stuff like repair permissions as well.
