Imaging software

Morning all,

Is there any kind of software for the Mac that can image it's HDD? So instead of having to reinstall OSX and any applications that I may need, I can just load an image onto it?

PS. This is for my Macbook. That's why it's in this particular forum.

Two main ones (my favorite) Carbon Copy Cloner (http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html) which is free and then there is SuperDuper, not free but you can make bootables clones of your drive like CCC for free.
