iPod Touch and University networks

Hi!

My first post here ! :) HAVE A 32gb Touch and was trying to connect to the university WiFi network. It is a UK university.

I was told that that this is not possible yet and a firmware upgrade in June should fix the problem. I was told that both UK and American universities have been in discussion with Apple.

Does anyone have any information on this?

Perhaps your university uses the Cisco VPN Client? My university (Penn State) does. The next version of the touch software (2.0) will support the Cisco VPN Client and you should hopefully be able to connect.

I think you are correct. Senior computing students said to wait for the next upgrade.

I will do a search about how I upgrade my Touch. This is all new to me :)
