Asked whether she had been put off by large-scale protests against the visit and anti-American sentiment in Britain, Mrs Bush said she had seen many more pro-US demonstrators.
"I don't actually think the protests are near as large as everyone was predicting before we got here," she said, as a crowd estimated by police to be between 100,000 and 110,000 strong marched in protest.
"We've seen plenty of American flags. We've seen plenty of people who were waving to us, many, many more people, in fact than we've seen protestors."
so, because she didn't see them, they didn't exist. looks like she's no better informed than her husband.

Interesting double standard. The biological and chemical weapons in Iraq can't be seen or found but they have a strong faith they're there.
Ironic. They can't see what is all around them and at the same time believe in something that is nowhere to be found.

Oh, so once all the protesters were kept away and the pro-USA people were allowed in close she comes to the conclusion that there are more pro-USA people?

Peace is not the absence of war, but the presence of justice.
whoever said that was an idiot. Peace, by definition IS the absence of war!
The presence of justice, is the presence of justice.
anyway back on topic, and in response g4 scott.
Laura was obviously making this up as there really were not many people visibly supporting them from what I saw! I suppose thats what seperates Blair from Bush (and his wife) is that Blair freely admits that his decisions were not popular, the fact that Bush denies this is just Lame if you ask me!

However, Blair's wife too is a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic.

The presence of justice, is the presence of justice.
That's not my point. Too many people (like you), think that peace is just the absence of war. It is also:
An agreement or a treaty to end hostilities.
Freedom from quarrels and disagreement; harmonious relations.
Public security and order.
Inner contentment; serenity.
Peace is not merely the absence of war. You can not be at war, and still not have peace, which is exactly how Iraq was before. Although there may be more hostilities between the US and small militant factions, the Iraqi people have more freedom, they are living more harmoniously, no religious minorities are being repressed by the government, and no ethnic minorities are getting gassed.
