Hi, I've been having trouble lately with my home network.

We all connect through one wifi router and half the time, i can't connect to other machines on the network. Some of the time they appear in the 'Shared' section in the sidebar, other times there's no shared section listed.
Equally, I can't connect over samba, nor can I ping the machines, only the router.
I've attempted changing my location from automatic to a set location however this hasn't helped. Also, when using a set location, it lists my ethernet devices as 'connected' (i use airport) en2 is assigned with 10.37.129.2 and en3 is assigned 10.211.55.2, my airport (en1) has the correct address (192.168.2.3) and when i set the location to automatic, both other ethernet devices are listed as 'not connected', the airport still has the correct address.
I've tried changing my workgroup under advanced>WINS but it will not let me save the workgroup. I enter the name, click OK, then apply but the workgroup is cleared when i go back in to see the settings.

Why does this sporadically happen? How can I fix? As i said, i can always access the router, but half the time I can't even ping the other machines.

I should probably mention that my and every other firewall is switched off. I'm running 5.2 and the other machines, XP(SP2).

Any help in resolving this is greatly appreciated, it's obviously quite annoying to have such crap networking 😉
