I just "switched" over to the Mac because I was so sick of my PC crashing, conflicts, etc...I purchased iMac 24", 2.8GHz with Nividia 8800 upgrade. I love to game but not necessarily the high end games liek Crysis, Orange Box, Bioshck, etc. I like RPG's, sports games and games like WOW, Eve Online, etc...

My question and concern is this: I am scared of corrupting my beautiful new Mac by havig Windows on there. Is this a valid concern? Can using those programs to play games on my Mac corrupt it? I would only use Bootcamp or any other software program like that STRICTLY to play the game- no surfing the net, pirating games to burn, etc.

Any thoughts? Can some please share experiences and facts? Thank you in advance!

There's no concern at all. Why would you have them to begin with?

As always backup all of your data before you use Boot Camp Assistant partitioner. I've had 100% success using Boot Camp but always have a backup.

You should be OK as long as you don't do aything stupid on the PC side. Same goes for anything under OSX, really. Some native ports like WoW are pretty good under OSX, others play well under Crossover for Games. Some will require Bootcamp to run at all.

But you have to sometimes to update unfortunately, right?Just stay behind a router, don't use Internet Explorer unless you lock it down, and don't open every file you download unless you trust it. ;)
