So, hearing everyone asking "how to remove startup sound?" makes me laugh coz im going to ask for the opposite 😛
Well, startup sound from the internal speakers can be annoying because there is no mute or volume down/up option before you are logged in, but what about when having speakers plugged in the optical output? (macpro). If i have them turned on, i would like to hear the startup sound when i boot my mac, but ever since i use the "Digital Output" option, there is no startup sound :'(
