Ok, For Christmas my wife wants a small portable stereo to take aound the house with her sans headphones. I have an iPod and thought about buying some speakers for it and she can hook into that. i went to the Apple store and thougth that $149 is a bit much. Has anyone had any experience with other brands. Creative has some for the iPod. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

The iPod cradle has a mini-stereo jack... so anything with an amp, even a mini-system with a line in can hook into it. That leaves your choices, almost endless. :)

Try creative labs sound blaster speakers. I have these here. they're 30 dollers and they sound great.

or you can lug around this (http://www.antipixel.com/blog/archives/images/felicidade_02.jpg) piece of fashion.

Roaring Treble, pounding bass and enough room for you wallet, make up and your little dog too.

well its not ipod related, but the sony S2 line looks really great. i'm thinking of dropping some dough for the boombox. the two models are $150 and $100. check it out:
