iMovie, iDVD wont work with Sony T200

For some reason, none of my .mpg movie files from my Sony T200 camera work with iMovie or iDVD. They are not even able to be imported to work with? They open in quicktime...so I am wondering what the problem is, and if there is a fix??? Thanks
 
I'm not familiar with the exact camera that you have, but I have heard that many Sony cameras are not compatible with iMovie/iDVD.
