View Full Version : disk image .dmg doesnt ask for password when encrypted

so my friend wants to lock a .dmg because well i think hes trying to hide something dont even ask ;) any whos when he encrypts it when he opens it, it doesnt ask for the password he types in i didnt even know u could lock .dmg so why isnt it locking ?

Chances are that when they made the encrypted disk image they didn't deselect the option to remember password in the keychain which (for some bizarre reason) is checked by defualt.
To make it ask for the password again, go to keychain access (/Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access.app) and remove the entry that corresponds to the disk image name.
