when the new firmware is out, will there be an option from third party to just unlock the sim card? I don't want to jail break my iPhone, just use it in my country to make calls and purchase software through apple, do we know if this will be implemented?

Yes.
I believe that there is already a software out for 2.0 unlocking.

It is important to be specific here...
There will be an unlock for firmware 2.0 out when pwnagetool is updated after the official firmware release.
But the 3G iPhone will not be unlockable for a while it seems - but we will see!

Sure is. After you unlock the phone with Pwnage and bootneuter you canjust make a new firmware with only "activated" checked. The phone will appear as stock, yet be useable with any sim card.

Well to unlock your phone, you need to open up the file system, which is jailbreaking, so to unlock/activate, you need to jailbreak first. If you want to get rid of the Installer icon, just SSH delete it when all that has been modified for 2.0 firmware...

Not as of this post, there isn't. At least not for FW 2.0 Beta 6 Build 5A308 .
I'm on the iPhone Enterprise Development Team & keep a constant eye on these things

The iPhoneDevTeam have from what I have gathered reading hackintosh a few different methods based around pwnage for jailbreaking the newest beta versions but are waiting for the official 2.0 release so Apple do not patch it before the final version is out.
The actual unlock is very easy using bootneuter (as you will see reading the devteam page at http://wikee.iphwn.org/sgold_bootrom:simple_unlock) and the latest beta's are all unlocked.
But between the last version of pwnage that worked with 2.0 and now Apple changed the file types slightly so rather than give away the new hacks the wait is on to the final 2.0 release.
