I read the rumor about the new version of "halo" is ready to launch, but what is "halo"?! as much as I read the discussion, it is something about playing games in macs.. is it a game? a simulator? a middle level platform for gaming? ???
thanx in advance..

game... first person perspective 3D shooting game.
as alluded to elsewhere, it's THE game that made Xbox, at least initially.

You can find out some about the game here... it's a first person shooter...
From what I can gather it was supposed to come out on the Mac primarily, then for some reason only came out on the XBox and now it's finally coming out for the Mac two years after it has been out... something like that...

It's kind of a big deal in Mac circles because of Bungie's history, which is told pretty well here. (http://zdnet.com.com/2100-11-521630.html?legacy=zdnn)

Nice link, FriarTuck. I've been looking for that article. It's a good article for old Marathon fans...

I am not generally a fan of FPS myself, but Halo is really, really, really fun to play. The xbox version was a blast, but I am going to wait for Halo 2 on the mac.
For anyone who hasn't played it on the box, definately buy it for the mac. It is money well spent.
