View Full Version : Everything in UK Apple Store Ready to Ship in 2 Days

Hey, just noticed that every mac on the UK Apple store website is ready to ship in 2 days. The US store seems OK. Just wondered if there is any relevance to this? Tuesday coming up an all.

I'm aware that the iMac has just been updated so I'm not expecting anything on that front... merely putting this news out there to see what people think...

Well, that was my first thought too but why would that affect the online store?

Most likely because the staff who work in the warehouse are on holiday today or alternatively because the courier companies which Apple use aren't doing pickups today. You do realise there are lots of people employed doing manual labour in online stores, right?

The mail might be shut down, and they may want to give their employees the day off. Robots haven't taken over the entire process yet ;)

Employed doing manual labour in the UK? I wasn't aware of that. They despatch systems from China and the Czech Republic... and whenever I have phoned Apple I speak to someone in Ireland or the US - and there aren't any holidays there today.

Point taken about the postal service though. But to be fair, do apple quote 2 day's shipping on a Saturday? Aren't Sat and Sun normally rest days for the likes of UPS/TNT/Walsh Western?

Just a thought - I may be wrong. I never noticed this last bank holiday earlier in the month.

OK, so now the Mac Mini is the only item shipping within 24 hours. Everything else, still 2 days... weird.
