Nope, not another memory management thread. 😱

So I had ordered my 4GB upgrade from OWC and when I finally got around to installing it in my new refurb blackbook, something seemed very weird to me. My "original" two 1GB chips had a white residue on the chips, including the pin connections. Do Apple techs cleanse parts that would leave a white residue on the components during repair/refurbishing? Could this be due to any other reason?

**No longer cautious...just a lubricant

I'll try to post pics tonight or tomorrow to show exactly what these look like.

Oh, and since putting in the 4GB, Safari seems snappier 😉

I have read of the white residue before. It is a lubricate and it's supposedly used to aid the ram installation.
