The fan on my computer has been running really loud. At first I thought it was just that it hadn't been restarted in forever, but then it started doing it again and everything was super lagging. I checked Activity Monitor, and is said RCD was not responding. I quit it, and a few minutes later, the fan went back to its normal level.
I installed a few updates yesterday, so I'm guessing one of those is the cause. I updated Quicktime 7.4.5, Airport Extreme 2008-001, iTunes 7.6.2, Safari 3.1.1, and Security Update 2008-001. BTW, I'm running OSX 10.4.11.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a better fix other than quiting rcd?
